Induced gravitational waves from slow-roll inflation after an enhancing phase

چکیده

Abstract The primordial spectrum of fluctuations may present a large peak as result enhancing features during inflation. This include, but is not limited to, bumps in the inflaton's potential, phases ultra-slow-roll or turns multi-field space. However, many models, inflation does end immediately after feature and it likely to continue with second phase slow-roll. We show that resulting induced gravitational waves probe from inflationary phase, even if its amplitude too small directly induce detectable waves. because, there are sharp peaks spectrum, total wave simply sum by peaked scale-invariant spectra separately, cross terms interaction between these modes also become important. find such always have characteristic slope. discuss parameter space be probed future detectors presence signals.

Slow-Roll Spectrum for Gravitational Waves

We derive the power spectrum Pψ(k) of the gravitational waves produced during general classes of inflation with second order corrections. Using this result, we also derive the spectrum and the spectral index in the standard slow-roll approximation with new higher order corrections. KAIST-TH/2004-10 [email protected]

Gravitational waves in an anomaly-induced inflation

The goal of the present study is to analyze the fate of gravitational waves in a background defined by an inflationary scenario created by a trace anomaly induced by quantum effects generated by matter fields in the primordial Universe [1]. This model is a generalization of the Starobinsky model [2], where a similar mechanism has been developed. The counterterms necessary to avoid divergences i...

Gravitational Waves from Inflation

Gravitational waves (GW) are tensor perturbations of the metric of curved spacetime that propagate. The metric g is a matrix (or differential 2-form, to be specific) that fully describes the 4-dimensional manifold of a spacetime in general relativity. The components of the full metric gμν are the sum of an unperturbed metric and the perturbation hμν , which varies on a smaller scale (separated ...

Generating Gravitational Waves After Inflation

It has long been known that an inflationary phase in the very early universe sources a background of gravitational waves. The amplitude of this background is tightly constrained by Cosmic Microwave Background [CMB] data [3,4] placing nontrivial constraints on the inflationary parameter space [5]. The temperature anisotropy of the CMB is measured with much higher accuracy than the polarization a...

Gravitational waves , inflation and the cosmic microwave background : towards testing the slow - roll paradigm

One of the fundamental and yet untested predictions of inflationary models is the generation of a very weak cosmic background of gravitational radiation. We investigate the sensitivity required for a space-based gravitational wave laser interferometer with peak sensitivity at∼ 1 Hz to observe such signal as a function of the model parameters and compare it with indirect limits that can be set w...
